Barlow puts hand up for return

Michael Barlow remains on track to play in Sunday's western derby after being named in Fremantle's 25-man squad this afternoon.

Barlow, Hayden Ballantyne, Alex Silvagni and Jack Hannath were all included in the Dockers' squad for the clash at Patersons Stadium, with first-team regular Matt de Boer dropped.

The club has resisted the urge to bring back Anthony Morabito as the substitute.

West Coast are one step closer to bringing back Shannon Hurn from a knee injury, with the key playmaker added to their squad.

Captain Darren Glass will return from suspension, with Sam Butler and Simon Tunbridge also in the squad.

Dom Sheed is their only ommission. Both sides will be cut to 22 players tomorrow.

Barlow has not played since injuring his left knee in the final term of Fremantle's win over Gold Coast in round two, but was listed as a 'test' on the club's injury list on Tuesday night.

The 26-year-old averaged 30 disposals and kicked three goals in his two appearances this season and moved freely when he joined teammates yesterday.

Barlow has a strong record against West Coast, having won three Ross Glendinning medals, including both last season.

Fellow midfield star Nat Fyfe was absent from yesterday's open session and Anthony Morabito did not appear, despite successfully challenging a two-match ban at the WAFL tribunal.

Coach Ross Lyon told Channel 7 Morabito would be a chance to play as the substitute against the Eagles if available.

The luckless midfielder has not appeared at AFL level since the 2010 semifinal loss to Geelong.

"It's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when," Lyon said.

"It could be this week, unlikely, but it's going to happen."

Troubled youngster Josh Simpson was also back in the fold.

Simpson was banished from the club last week after missing the flight to Sydney as the travelling emergency in round five.

He has been allowed back but will not be available for selection until further notice.

Garrick Ibbotson was also in the main group after not playing for Peel because of illness last Saturday and is another possible inclusion for the Dockers.
