Fremantle defender Zac Dawson is in line to play for Perth in the WAFL after being omitted from the side to face Port Adelaide on Sunday.

Dawson had originally been named in Fremantle's starting 18, but was replaced by Lee Spurr today as the squad was cut from 25 to 22.

He has been sidelined for five weeks with a knee injury, but trained strongly this week and was rated a small chance to play by coach Ross Lyon.

Meanwhile, Nick Suban and Zac Clarke have both been dropped in order for injured stars Nat Fyfe and Chris Mayne to return to the side.

The game will be Fyfe's first appearance for Fremantle since an ill-fated attempt to play out the season with a shoulder injury came unstuck after round five.

Mayne comes back after a tight calf ruled him out of last weekend's 95-point win over Greater Western Sydney.
