Stephen Hill's ankle has failed to mend in time and the midfielder will miss a second consecutive match when Fremantle tackle Collingwood at the MCG.
Hill didn't make the flight east with the rest of the Dockers squad yesterday. He also missed last week's clash with Essendon because of the injury.
The Dockers have also had to overlook a sick Hayden Crozier and Jesse Crichton was dropped.
Forward Hayden Ballantyne returns following suspension while Dylan Roberton looks set to be the replacement for Crichton.
However, Fremantle have also kept their options open by taking Lee Spurr and Tom Sheridan in their travelling party and both were named as emergencies.
Michael Walters was also on the standby list but didn't travel.
Collingwood dropped Marty Clarke and Tom Young while Jackson Paine and Caolan Mooney, another product from Ireland, have made their way into the 22.
The 19 year-old Mooney, from Rostrevor, County Down, has played only 13 games of Australian football but his speed and quick grasp of the code has seen him improve at a rapid rate in the mere months he has been with club.
