McPhee cleared over Jetta whack

It wasn't quite staging this time, but Adam McPhee has been cleared for a hit which left Leroy Jetta on the ground in Essendon's win on Saturday night.

Jetta, who was the first player booked for staging in the AFL, went to ground after a strong jumper punch from the Dockers defender but despite the Bomber's pleas the incident didn't draw a free kick from the umpire with a clear view of the scrap.

Today, the Match Review Panel deemed that the force of the hit was below that of a reportable offence, leaving McPhee clear to line up for the Dockers against Collingwood at the MCG this weekend.

The Fremantle veteran was not the only player to receive good news from the MRP this morning, with Simon Black (striking) being offered a reprimand and Melbourne's Nathan Jones (instigating a melee), Daniel Nicholson, Mark Jamar, Brent Moloney and GWS's Thomas Bugg, Taylor Adams, Toby Greene and Dylan Shiel (melee) all incurring fines in the only charges to be laid this week.

Ben McGlynn (Hawthorn), Matthew Boyd, Ayce Cordy (Bulldogs), Chris Dawes (Collingwood) and Taylor Walker (Adelaide) were all cleared of minor incidents by the MRP.
