It's baby first for Judd

Carlton and former West Coast champion Chris Judd will miss tomorrow's blockbuster game against Essendon if the birth of his first child is imminent.

Carlton chief executive Greg Swann revealed this morning that Judd planned to miss the game if it meant he would be present for the birth.

Swann told Melbourne radio he hoped the baby arrived on Monday.

Rebecca Judd is understood to still be at home.

Judd told The West Australian about four weeks ago that the birth was likely "in about three to four weeks".

At that stage Judd also indicated to The West Australian that he planned to be at the hospital rather than the ground if there was a conflict.
