Goodwin chasing win for Souths and softer landing

South Sydney centre Bryson Goodwin is hoping for a happier return to nib Stadium when he lines up against the New Zealand Warriors in Saturday afternoon's NRL clash.

Goodwin missed nine weeks after rupturing a medial ligament in his elbow in the Rabbitohs' 34-18 win over the Warrriors last year.

He has held down a regular starting spot this season but is looking to increase his 2015 try tally of just one.

He will also be needing a few extra tickets for the game.

The 10-Test New Zealand international is the son of Australian representative "Lord" Ted Goodwin and played his junior rugby league with brothers Luke and Bronx at South Perth Lions when his father was a development officer with the WA Rugby League.

"We're really looking forward to coming back, everyone loves playing in Perth," Goodwin said.

"I've still got mates I went to school with and played with so I'll catch up with some of them.

"A few have already asked for tickets."

Goodwin felt the Rabbitohs were starting to find the consistency that was missing early season.

"We're getting back on track now, we've won three of the last four and we're clearly getting back to where we should be," he said.

"We were in position to win other games but we've had injuries and other problems. They are not excuses but we're getting back to our best.

"You don't want to be peaking right now anyway and were heading in the right direction.

"We've been up and down but we'll been fine come the back end of the year."

Goodwin has moved from wing to centre in the past couple of seasons.

"The coaches think centre is a better fit for me," he said.

"I've played all games this year and I'm pretty happy with how I've been going but I've only gone over for one try and I wouldn't mind a few more."
