Speculation that former West Coast champion Daniel Kerr was heading to one of the Goldfields Football League clubs led nowhere yesterday.

Amid suggestions on Tuesday Kerr was poised to move to the region to continue his playing career, each of the five senior coaches denied any knowledge.

Yesterday, league chairman Garry Giles and operations manager Rhonda Worthington both confirmed they were unaware of any plans by Kerr to relocate to the Goldfields.

"I haven't spoken to all the club presidents, but those I did said they didn't know anything," Giles said.

"If they did, they said they'd let me know, but no clearance has been put through."

The Kalgoorlie Miner understands plans to continue his football career in the GFL were not on Kerr's agenda.

"He (Kerr) has a few issues by the sound of it," Giles said. "It's likely he's injured and doesn't want a run and maybe wants to have a break from footy."

Kerr made a one-off appearance in the GFL for Kambalda last season, but was later cleared to Denmark-Walpole in the Great Southern Football League.

But Kerr walked away from the Magpies just five games into the season.

His departure was followed by a wave of speculation he would accept a high-paying job with a local corporation.
