Four grand final appearances in seven years involved in the ANZ Championship is an impressive strike rate.

But new West Coast Fever assistant coach Tracey Robinson is not in the habit of making grand predictions.

Robinson joined the Fever from powerful franchise Queensland Firebirds during the off-season.

She helped play a role in Fever's shock round-one win over the Firebirds on Sunday.

"I'm one of those people, I don't like predicting anything," Robinson said.

"The last seven years I've never put semifinals into my calendar so I don't make predictions based on anything.

"I'm really happy with where the girls are at currently. I think if we keep improving and moving forward, anything can happen."

Robinson has provided valuable support to first-year head coach Stacey Rosman, having been part of the coaching team at the NSW Swifts for two years and the Firebirds for the past five seasons.

In that time, Robinson was involved in two championship wins - one at each club.

"I've been in four grand finals in the seven years of ANZ," she said.

"I have been involved with a lot of really good players.

"I have seen lots of good players develop within the system and I've played a small part in that."

Robinson was seeking a change at the end of last season. Having watched Fever struggle in previous years, she's determined to help them climb the ladder.

"I think Fever have done a really good job in the recruitment of players and coaches over here," she said.

"The organisation is probably one of the most progressive in Australia in terms of that."
