Taylor swamps the Waves

The West Coast Waves' hopes of ending their finals drought suffered another blow in the form of an 86-77 defeat to Dandenong at the WA Basketball Centre tonight.

The Waves struggled to contain Australian basketball legend Penny Taylor, who had 23 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Kathleen MacLeod (18 points) and Alice Kunek (17) were also prominent for the Rangers.

Captain Deanna Smith led all scorers with 24 points for the Waves, while Sarah Graham added 16.

It was the Waves' fourth straight defeat, leaving them in seventh spot with a 4-7 record and in danger of losing touch with the top four.
