Rugged defender Dino Djulbic has rejoined Perth Glory as the first official signing of Kenny Lowe's reign as coach.

Djulbic, who returned to training with Glory in early March but did not play this season, has signed a two-year deal.

The 31-year-old spent one-and-a-half seasons with Glory from 2007 to 2009 and made 27 appearances for his hometown club.

He left for German side Rot Weiss Ahlen before returning to the A-League with Gold Coast United.

More recently, Djulbic has played with Chinese club Guizhou Renhe and Al-Wahda in the United Arab Emirates.

Djulbic represented Australia during the EAFF East Asian Cup qualifying tournament in 2012, where he played alongside versatile Glory defender Michael Thwaite.

Bosnia-born Djulbic was pleased to back in Perth, which he now calls home.

"It's great to be back at Glory, the club where I made my professional debut and which has given me so much, both on and off the pitch," Djublic said.

"It's been over five years since I last played for Glory and I am looking forward to once again playing in the A-League.

"Next season is very important to me and all involved in the club. We have to compete and we have to get back to our winning ways."

Lowe was this week named coach for the next two seasons. He had served as interim boss for 17 games after Alistair Edwards was sacked in December.

While in charge on an interim basis, Lowe signed three players - Nebojsa Marinkovic, Rostyn Griffiths and Darvydas Sernas.

Djulbic is Glory's first signing since Lowe was given the permanent role on Tuesday.

Lowe will be given further ability to reshape the Glory squad for next season, with Jacob Burns, Travis Dodd, Ryan Edwards, Adrian Zahra, William Gallas, Steven McGarry and Sernas set to move on.
