The WA Amateur Football League is looking forward to a big season which starts this Saturday.

Kalamunda, with former Perth coach Gary Armstrong at the helm, are into the A Grade for the first time after dominating B Grade last year.

Three former AFL players are coaching in A Grade - David Hynes (North Beach), Josh Wooden (Swan Athletic) and Earl Spalding who will try to repeat his historic premiership with Wesley Curtin last season.

Wesley Curtin became the first club in the long history of the WAAFL to win the A Grade premiership the season after being premiers in B Grade.

Former Fremantle and Claremont midfielder Byron Schammer is coaching Collegians in the B Grade.

Former WAFL player Tim Noakes is the new coach of Wembley.
