West Coast Waves veteran Melissa Marsh will play her final home game for the club in the clash with Adelaide Lightning at the WA Basketball Centre on Saturday.

Marsh, 28, will retire at the end of the Women's National Basketball League season after more than 260 games.

Marsh remained loyal to the WA side despite enjoying little team success, spending all but one season in her home State.

Waves coach Kennedy Kereama said Marsh had played a pivotal role for the club.

"Melissa or 'Min' has been the embodiment of what represents our club for a number of seasons," Kereama said.

"She is an example to what can be achieved through hard work, commitment and determination.

"Min will finish this season with a total of 266 games played for the club which is the standing record and shows a tremendous amount of resilience and physical hardness.

"Min has been an outstanding ambassador for women's basketball and we wish her the very best in her future career endeavours."

The Waves won their opening game of the 2013-14 season away to Adelaide, but have since lost 20 consecutive games.

On Saturday, they host a Lightning side that sits fifth with a 10-12 record and is out of finals contention with just two rounds left in the regular season.
