Jockey Troy Turner has been cleared of any wrongdoing at a stewards inquiry into his ride on Granmcdawe at Pinjarra last Sunday.

Stewards determined Turner made an error of judgement on Granmcdawe, who ran sixth as the $3 favourite behind stablemate Lequest.

But the error was not enough to warrant a charge against Turner for failing to take all measures to give Granmcdawe every chance of winning the race.

Turner's ride came under scrutiny after Granmcdawe's alarming drift in betting and the successful plunge on stablemate Lequest, who firmed from $5 to $3.20 on course.

An analysis of Turner, trainer Brett Pope and Lequest's jockey Ben Kennedy's phone records found nothing sinister.
