Kununurra touch football has been a huge success this season with more than 100 players taking part across the men’s and mixed team competition.
The men’s touch football competition culminated last Friday night in a grand final clash between teams one and two.
Team one were the competition winners.
Mixed games will continue for another two weeks before the finals begin mid November.
Kununurra touch football club president Sam Bodycoat said he was pleased with the season of men’s and mixed games.
“There’s a pretty high standard being played,” he said.
“And the girls are getting better; we’ve had girls-only training sessions running alongside the men’s.”
Beginner and intermediate women’s players gathered over three Monday evenings for rules and tactics sessions run by Danee Finckh, with 16 participants taking part.
Mr Bodycoat said the women’s training sessions meant females were able to learn about the sport before playing the game.
The second last game of mixed touch football before the finals begin will be played next week.
