Sting finish third

The Western Sting have finished third in the Australian Netball League after beating NSW Waratahs 54-36 in Melbourne this morning.

The Sting were playing off for third after losing to the Queensland Fusion 57-52 in their semi-final yesterday.

It is the first time since 2012 that the Sting were in the ANL finals.

Five West Coast Fever players - Ashleigh Brazill, Kate Beveridge, Ingrid Colyer, Courtney Bruce and Kaylia Stanton - have played for the Sting.

Newly appointed Fever coach Stacey Rosman has led the Sting ahead of the ANZ Championship team starting their pre-season in December.

Brazill, who is on the comeback from a wrist injury that cut short her season for West Coast, tied with Kristina Brice from the Waratahs to be named the league’s most valuable player.
