The double-header roller derby bout at Midvale Speed Dome on Saturday showed why the high-intensity sport is one of the fastest growing in the world.

Perth Roller Derby's All Stars defeated WA Roller Derby's Ward of the Skate team and Perth's Rumble Bees beat Bunbury before a sellout crowd of 1200 and organisers hope to increase spectator capacity by 1000.

People were turned away from the aptly titled Quads of War bout.

PRD skater Vanessa Monck said the all-female contact sport was growing at an amazing rate.

The players skate around an oval circuit and one player on each team earns points for lapping opposition players while her teammates act as blockers.
