Three naked teenagers were lucky to escape with minor injuries after the car they were driving in plunged into a canal near Busselton last night.
An 18-year-old man and two women, believed to be about the same age, were discovered wet and naked by nearby residents who heard the man screaming in a distressed state at about 10pm, Busselton police said.
Police will allege the man was intoxicated when he got lost and drove through a vacant block and into the canal.
The threesome, who had been on their way home to Donnybrook, managed to escape from their submerged car.
Acting Sen. Sgt Stuart Gerreyn said the teenagers were lucky to have only minor injuries and the situation could have been much worse.
The man will be charged with drink driving by summons and will appear in court at a later date
The children aged 12 and 10 watched helplessly as their mothers died.
