Bunbury chef and musician Mike Hayes is hoping to strike a chord at this weekend's Truffle Kerfuffle.

Although he will not be cooking at the event, the manager of Henry's Cafe Brasserie will be taking his guitar to sing some songs.

The Truffle Kerfuffle will take place at Fonty's Pool in Manjimup from tomorrow and will feature a number of high-profile chefs in a range of activities.

Mr Hayes was born in Bridgetown and has moved around WA before settling in Bunbury in January.

He is looking forward to playing at the festival - an "excellent opportunity" to play for crowds.

"I love truffles and it's great to be invited to play - I know that Manjimup is a very pretty place," he said.

"I've been playing since I was 13 and I've been involved in a lot of different bands.

"As a musician I love roots, rock and reggae so it's a real fusion of influences and I love artists like Jack Johnson and Ben Harper."

He said he developed his moniker The Rock-In Chef - which doubles as his catering business - over the past few years.

"The idea of the catering business is to rock in, rock on and rock out," he said.

"I've just become the manager at Henry's earlier this year so I'm hoping to use it as a platform to offer more catering services.

"As a chef, my main passion is fresh products.

"I consider myself to be versatile, I love spices and curries."
