Police praise volunteers at fatal SW crash

A Manjimup woman, 33, died in a car crash on Graphite Road outside Manjimup last night.

Emergency services had to cut the woman out of the car but she died from her injuries at the scene.

Manjimup Sgt Paul Williams said the woman was the sole occupant of the car when it crashed just after 6pm near Paganini Road in Glenoran.

The car drifted onto the gravel shoulder, crossed back over two lanes and crashed into a tree.

Sgt Williams said emergency services were out at the scene till about midnight.

“The number of volunteers out there was amazing,” he said.

“Volunteers are the beating heart of this community.”
