A man has been charged with stealing a car, after a crash on Bussell Highway near Jindong on Tuesday.

Busselton police Senior Sergeant Steve Principe said the Mitsubishi four-wheel-drive crashed into a tree near Yelverton Road after the man, in his 30s, allegedly stole it from a Yallingup location.

Police, volunteer fire and rescue service and ambulance crew went to the scene about 3.30pm.

A St John Ambulance spokesman said the driver had injuries to his head, torso and legs, but was conscious.

Another man in his 30s had no visible injuries and was taken to hospital.

The driver was released from hospital and will appear at Busselton Magistrate's Court in the coming weeks.
