Golfers rock out at open day

More than 60 women golfers teed off in style on Friday for the Manjimup Golf Club's annual Ladies' Open Day.

This year's event was Rock'n'roll themed and featured notable appearances from Elvis, Blondie and Grease's Pink Ladies.

Golfers came from as far as Bunbury, Walpole and Augusta to compete.

Nan Chapman took out first place, with Di Templeman and Cheryl Dillon tying for second.

Di Smith and Denise Nock tied for third and Margaret Mottram and Kerry DeCampo tied for fourth.

Club president Maxine Rosman said the open day was a great way to get more women involved in the sport.

"We'd love to see more women playing," she said.

"Anyone interested in giving it a go should get in touch."
