Member gets life after stealing show

Harvey Agricultural Society president Dom Fazzolari surprises Cheryl Moyle and her husband Phil, in presenting her with a life membership during this year’s Harvey Agricultural Show proceedings.

An extra-special Harvey Agricultural Show this year has been capped off with a life membership for Harvey Agricultural Society secretary Cheryl Moyle.

Mrs Moyle was surprised and humbled to receive the prestigious recognition.

Society president Dom Fazzolari said the group was indebted to Mrs Moyle's dedication and service throughout the years.

"Cheryl has given her time selflessly when it comes to the show every year for the past 15 years," Mr Fazzolari said.

"The society wanted to officially thank her and acknowledge her for her hard work and dedication."

When Mrs Moyle began her association with the society, she undertook what she described as "a two-year apprenticeship" with then-secretary Jim Rake.

"Mr Rake, who had been the society secretary for decades, was the one who showed me the ropes and I knew I had big shoes to fill," she said.

Mrs Moyle said the role of secretary was a busy but rewarding job.

"When all the hard work of the show committee comes together every year and you see people enjoying the show, it is very rewarding," she said.

Mrs Moyle joins society stalwarts such as John Lowe, Gary Van Burgel, Jim Rake and Ray Blackburn in being among the group's honorary life members.
