South West Hockey League grand final regulars and six times women's champions Boyanup look determined to make up for their embarrassing absence from last season's men's and women's grand finals.

Last weekend the All Blacks drew level with Robins by way of a 3-0 win over Marist in spite of the return of gun youngster Tenielle Barbetti from a successful national Under-18 campaign.

With Robins sitting out the bye on 12 points, the Boyanup win puts a little daylight between the neck-and-neck leaders and third-placed Marist and Associates on six points.

Traditional rivals All Blacks and the Blues put up an entertaining battle with Boyanup's South West Strikers Holly Hyder and Jenna Gmeiner on target after a scoreless first half, together with Rosie McCaughan, courtesy of Marie Cross Medallists Anita Scott, Allyce Bachos and Tania Iseppi against a stout hearted effort from Blues Barbetti, Rachel Mellor and Emma Stonard.

At the other end of the scale lowly TownSouth etched out another precious point from a 2-all draw with former champs Collie with best-on-ground Rebecca Campbell scoring a goal in each half against Danni McIntyre and Megan Crowe on target for Collie courtesy of Danielle Pelliciari, Freya Tomasini and Whitney Marley.

Biggest win of the weekend was recorded by Associates who blitzed Exies 4-0 with goals from coach Kiri O'Brien, Tayla Kirk, Ash Docking and Meg Snelling to move into the "four" one point ahead of TownSouth.
