Donations help Sean' studies, future

Shark attack victim Sean Pollard has used donations from 20 Lions clubs to buy a laptop for his studies.

Mr Pollard, a Bunbury resident, lost his right hand and left arm above the elbow from the shark attack while surfing at Wylie Bay, near Esperance, on October 2.

After the attack, the clubs held a series of fundraisers and donated about $9000 to Mr Pollard

The rest was donated to a trust account held by the South Bunbury Football Club.

City of Bunbury Leschenault Lions Club president Suzanne Clemons said they were happy to help Mr Pollard.

"We just felt he was a person in genuine need," she said.

"We were only too happy to be of general assistance."

After meeting Mr Pollard, Mrs Clemons described him as a remarkable person and was amazed at his positive attitude and outlook.

"You get a warm fuzzy feeling when you do nice things for people," she said.

"That is what the Lions club is all about - helping people in the community."
