Two original plays will be performed by Margaret River students at the SunSmart Busselton Fringe Carnevale on Queen Street festival next month.

Margaret River Senior High School Year 10 students will perform in the plays which have been written by Year 12 students and teacher Mem McCormack.

Storm in a Tea Cup is about a single man who goes to a tea reader to get advice on where to find his true love.

His search involves heart-break, frustration and a few cups of Earl Grey.

Ms McCormack wrote the second play, The Sock Drawer, which invites viewers to imagine the panic that all the single socks in the drawer feel when spring cleaning hits the household.

She said the students were really excited about showcasing their stage and scriptwriting skills through the plays.

She said many of the students had not performed in public before and were excited but also also a little nervous about the fringe event.

Ms McCormack said the plays were comical and fun ensembles.
