YOBS determined to beat arch rivals

YOBS determined to beat arch rivals

YOBS will aim to send a message to arch rivals St Mary's tomorrow.

Captain Nayton Colombera said his side would try to make amends for their defeat against the Saints last month.

Colombera said despite YOBS' recent good form, they would not underestimate their opponents.

"We're looking to continue winning, but we're not taking any game lightly, especially at this stage of the season," he said.

Colombera said YOBS would not be at full strength tomorrow, but they would be for their important match against Dunsborough the following week.

Although YOBS should go into the finals in the top spot, he said as premiers, Dunsborough were still favourites.

"Last time we played them before Christmas they just got over the line," he said.

"It was a good game, we were pretty evenly matched."

Colombera was speaking in the wake of YOBS' win over of Margaret River last Saturday.

YOBS batted first and posted 224 runs in their 50 overs.

Heavy hitter Jock Embry scored highest with 59 and Ben Payne made 49 not out.

YOBS' bowlers were merciless, with medium pacer Zack Davies taking 7-18.

After losing a couple of early wickets the Bulls were easily dismissed for 51 runs.

Colombera said YOBS' bowlers were delivering the goods and he would be relying on them heavily come finals.

Elsewhere St Mary's defeated Cowaramup and Dunsborough had a bye last Saturday.

YOBS take on St Mary's at Churchill Park from 12.30pm tomorrow. Dunsborough are at home to Margaret River and Cowaramup have a bye.
