Night full of medieval fun on its way

Residents are in for two fun-packed evenings of tongue-in- cheek humour and good food as a long-running show returns to Peel Manor House.

Dirty Dick's Theatre Restaurant manager and performer Simon Mumby said the nation's longest running live interactive show would return to its roots in WA to celebrate its 45th anniversary.

Mumby said the award-winning show followed the newly crowned King Randolph, his Merry Minstrel, his saucy head wench and Master Dirty Dick himself.

"It's basically all fun and games in a night of medieval mirth and merriment," he said.

"It's like Game of Thrones with a twist.

"It's a high-energy, fully scripted show which is very heavily comedy based in that innuendo kind of way - it's not crass or dirty but just a little bit saucy."

Mumby said the show first opened its doors at Cambridge Street in Perth in 1970 and had been touring the country almost non-stop since 1985.

He said the parody songs, hilarious comedy and audience participation kept people coming back for more.

"It's a stage show and a feast with costumed lads and, of course, our serving wenches - it's loads of fun," he said.

"We believe over 5 million people across three generations and across the continent have enjoyed Dirty Dick's."

Simon said the three-course feast included fresh crusty bread, homemade vegetable soup, alternate serves of roast beef or chicken breast with garden vegetables and all the trimmings and a delicious pudding with custard sauce.

Peel Manor House manager Craig McManus said he looked forward to hosting the fun and frivolous show on March 2 and 6.
