Movie Review: 50 Shades of Grey

The long-awaited film, 50 Shades of Grey, has taken more than $100 million in box office receipts on its first weekend.

But is the film, which undoubtedly has become a commercial success, worth all the hype?

After being one of the few guys to venture into a cinema to watch 50 Shades of Grey on Valentine’s Day, the short answer is no.

The acting is mediocre, the plot is clunky and hard-to-follow, and the much-awaited sex scenes are sadly not really that sexy.

There are plenty of sex scenes involving blindfolds, whips and ties, for those who enjoy that sort of viewing.

But ultimately this is a film that really doesn't deliver – it is hard to get away from the fact the filmmakers are in danger of ‘flogging’ a dead horse with this series of films.
