A Bunbury woman has pleaded not guilty to selling fake ultrasound photographs to nine mothers and will seek a trial.

Rawinia Hayes, who ran the business Amazing 4D Imaging, appeared in the Bunbury Magistrate’s Court this morning and pleaded not guilty to 18 charges under WA consumer laws.

She denies charges of accepting payment for goods and failing to provide them and making false or misleading representations to nine mothers in 2012.

Ms Hayes is accused of selling ultrasound photographs that were not the mothers’ babies.

Defence lawyer Michael Devlin said she would seek a trial date at her next appearance in the Bunbury Magistrate’s Court on April 9.

Mr Devlin also said he would liaise with WA Consumer Protection, which has brought the charges against the Bunbury woman, to negotiate the facts of the case.

Magistrate Elizabeth Hamilton adjourned the matter and placed Ms Hayes on a $500 bail.

Ms Hayes, who was accompanied to court by a number of people, made no comment to the media.
