Prisoner hospitalised after injury

A South West prisoner was taken to hospital with a neck wound after he was injured yesterday afternoon.

The man’s neck was cut during an incident at Bunbury Regional Prison.

Ambulance officers were notified of the incident at the multi-security prison about 2.45pm.

A Department of Corrective Services spokeswoman said the prisoner was taken to hospital for assessment, but his injuries were not life-threatening.

The cause of the injury was yet to be determined.
