Anzac Day services around Manjimup

As the sun rises tomorrow, veterans and the community in Manjimup, Bridgetown and Greenbushes will attend Anzac Day commemorations.

Manjimup

Manjimup veterans and the community will converge on the Manjimup War Memorial for the Anzac Day service.

The 6am service will include a talk from Royal Australian Navy Capt. Ljiljana Bradley, the Last Post and wreath laying.

Following the service, the community is invited back to the Manjimup RSL Hall on Brockman Street for the traditional gunfire breakfast.

Manjimup RSL president Rex Brown is encouraging community members to come along and take part in the Anzac Day march, which is lining up at the RSL Hall from 10.45am.

Following the 11am march, the Anzac Day ceremony will take place at the War Memorial and include talks from Capt. Bradley and Manjimup Shire Council representatives, wreath laying, the Last Post and the Reveille.

The march back to the Manjimup RSL Hall will be followed up with tea, biscuits and cold drinks.

There will also be an open golf day at the Manjimup Country Club from 12.30pm and a two-up game at the Manjimup Hotel from about 1.30pm.

Anyone who wants to lay a wreath is encouraged to call Mr Brown on 0427 771 875 so he can call on them during the service.

Bridgetown

The Bridgetown Anzac Day march will form at the post office carpark at 9.30am before marching from 9.45am for the 10am service.

Morning tea will be provided by the Red Cross in the Lessor Hall straight after the service.

Greenbushes

The Anzac Day March in Greenbushes will form at the Greenbushes RSL hall at 5.50am.

The estimated arrival time at the Column at the Cenotaph is 6am with the service to finish and march back to the RSL Hall at 6.30am.

The Gunfire Breakfast will be held in the hall from 6.35am.
