Thunder still after first win

Brady Grey caught up in the middle of the pack.

Peel Thunder’s search for their first win continues following an 18-point loss to East Fremantle at Rushton Park Bendigo Bank Stadium on Good Friday.

Three late goals to the Thunder reduced the margin, but it wasn’t enough as the Sharks ran out winners 12.14 (86) to 10.8 (68).

Despite another strong showing from a number of Fremantle Dockers players, the Thunder’s poor ball usage was exposed by the hard-working Sharks midfield.

Thomas Sheridan was the Thunder’s best with 32 disposals and kicked a goal early in the third quarter which saw the home side hit the front.

Ruckman Craig Moller was dangerous in the forward line, kicking all of his three goals in the first half. Former Fremantle Docker Brock O’Brien gathered 29 disposals and kicked an important goal in the third term, while his brother, 2013 Sandover Medallist Rory O’Brien amassed 28 possessions.

The Thunder will look to get their first victory for 2014 next Saturday against Claremont at the Showgrounds, while Sharks host South Fremantle on Anzac Day.
