Force ready to duel Knights

The Bunbury Forum Force began their assault on the All Flags State League Division 1 with a successful 8-0 ambush of a depleted Wanneroo City in Bunbury last weekend.

On Saturday, commander Trent Hathaway takes his troops up to Nashfield Reserve in Perth on a mission to add Western Knights to their capture.

From the front to the back Hathaway looks to have the issue covered and is confident of a repeat win over the Knights.

A former Premier League heavyweight, the Knights have fallen away in the last few seasons and like the Force they have a point to prove in their National Premier League quest.

Not so long ago the Force accounted for Western Knights in a Coolidge Cup clash in a lively sortie that spurned several casualties, including big Force sweeper Oliver McGee, and the Knights will be primed for revenge, especially after lowering their colours to Ashfield last Saturday.

The spirited McGee returned to hostilities last week to dominate the aerial exchanges while will-o-the-wisp striker Jon Brooks slotted two goals in a lively 5-4 Reserves win over Wanneroo which could earn him a recall back to the senior side.

Last week’s victory was described by proud coach Trent Hathaway a complete team effort.

“Everybody did their job well all over the park, there were no stand-outs, ” he said.

The Knights loss to Ashfield took its toll with a posse of players nursing injuries but the Force must avoid complaceney against Robbie Dunn and his charges.
