If it is true that you are more likely to be hit by lightning than win the lottery, then Rockingham Central Lottery Centre needs to invest in a lightning rod.

The lottery kiosk in Rockingham City Shopping Centre has sold two Division One Saturday winners in the past three weeks and two Division Two winners in the past ten weeks.

Owner Marie Alexander said it was unusual to have so many wins in such a short space of time.

She said the staff knew three of the winners, who were regular customers.

“We’re very happy if it goes to a regular, we get almost as excited as they do,” she said.

Ms Alexander said winning the lottery gave people more choice to do the things they wanted.

“People have really nice ideas about what they want to do with the money,” she said.

“They say ‘I want to be able to help my kids’.”
