The talents of young people in the region will be showcased at the inaugural Margaret River Skate and Music Festival on December 16.
Set to be held at the Margaret River Zone Room, the festival aims to celebrate youth culture in the shire of Augusta-Margaret River.
Photo displays, live bands and a skate competition run by Skateboarding Australia are already confirmed for the event, with businesses, community groups, musicians and artists encouraged to run stalls on the day.
Shire community development trainee Ella Sleegers said the Youth Advisory Council wanted to build on the success of recent skate events to create a youth-focused festival the whole community could enjoy.
“We really want to have as many stalls and activities as possible, and involve as many individuals and community groups as possible,” she said.
“It’s already looking to be our biggest and best event ever with BMX demos, activities and youth stalls … on the cards.”
The event will run from1pm to 6pm.
