Teen charged after armed robbery

An 18-year-old man has been charged after an armed robbery at a South West fast food outlet last week.

South West Detectives allege the man was one of three thieves who wore balaclavas and entered a Chicken Treat store in Withers last Tuesday night.

Two of the men armed themselves with knives and entered the store inside the Minninup Forum Shopping Centre, while the third remained at the entrance door.

Staff members complied with threats to open the cash tills and the three men left with an amount of money.

As part of the ongoing investigation South West detectives arrested an 18-year-old man in Harvey. He has since been charged with aggravated armed robbery.

He is due to appear in the Bunbury Magistrate's Court today.

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
