Margaret River link to Belanglo body

NSW Police are calling on Margaret River residents to help them identify a woman whose remains were found in Belanglo State Forest two years ago.

Police Media’s Ros Watherall said the woman’s remains could be that of a person who lived in Margaret River about 10 years ago.

NSW Police say information suggested the woman could have been a backpacker or vintage worker in the region, as was likely of German or European heritage.

The woman’s remains were found near Daly’s Pool in the Belanglo State Forest by bike riders on August 29, 2010.

Police believe the woman was aged from 13-25 years and have released an image of what the woman may have looked like.

A distinctive t-shirt blazoned with the word “Angelic” was also located at the site.

Anyone with information was encouraged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
