Margaret River’s sergeant Paul Daly has won the Police Officer of the Year Award for the second time.
The Margaret River police station officer-in-charge was announced as the winner of the Rotary Club of East Perth sponsored award today.
Sgt Daly has been OIC at the station since April 2010 and is the first officer in the 40-year history of the award to win twice, having previously won in 2008 while stationed at Beverley.
The judging panel selected Sgt Daly based on nomination submissions about his strong operational policing outcomes, local-level leadership skills on and off duty, his empathy in dealing with traumatic and tragic situations and his efforts to strengthen links between police and other sections of the Margaret River community.
Sgt Daly will receive $5000 and a weekend for two at Crown Perth.
