Cowaramup man charged after random stop

A Cowaramup man will front Margaret River Magistrate’s Court on November 26 after being caught with 3.5g of methamphetamine and unlicensed ammunition.

Senior Constable Jeromy Jones said the 49-year-old man was charged with possessing methamphetamine, cannabis, a smoking implement and illegal ammunition as the result of a random traffic stop on Wednesday.

Police allege they found three clip seal bags of methamphetamine after they searched his car.

Later on Wednesday, police searched the man’s Cowaramup home and found a total of 3.5g of methamphetamine, a quantity of cannabis and the unregistered ammunition.

“Having 3.5grams is on the upper scale of possession – if he had four grams he would be straight off to District Court to face more serious charges,” Snr Const. Jones said.
