Motorbikes stolen after Busselton ram-raid
Detectives are searching the South West for a white four-wheel drive believed to be involved in the ram-raid on Busselton Motorcycles in the early hours of Monday morning.
A forensics team was called to investigate at the scene after the utility reversed through the workshop roller door just before 4am.
Parts manager Jason Clarke estimated a damage bill of about $20,000, taking into account three stolen motorbikes and a range of gear, including helmets, also being stolen.
“It’s a bit of a shock,” he said. “Being Busselton you wouldn’t think that would happen.”
The workshop was out of action while repairs were carried out but the business expected to remain open.
Busselton Senior Sergeant Steve Principe said it appeared to be an isolated incident, as there had been no previous similar offences where a vehicle was used to break into premises recently.
He said detectives were continuing their enquiries, as it was believed to match the 2006 White Holden Rodeo dual cab stolen from Palmer Crescent in Bunbury between September 22 and 24.
The vehicle, with registration plate 1CVE 930, also had Lamac Commercial Plumbing signage on the driver and passenger doors and a tradies roof rack above its rear.
