MacKillop surfers win Girls' Title

Two MacKillop Catholic College surfers won the WA School Surfing Junior Girls Title at Trigg Beach in Perth.

Eliza Green and Maleeka Gasbarri teamed up to win the event and will attend training sessions to prepare to represent WA at the National Championships in Nebeena Beach Tasmania in December.

The college’s senior girl’s surfteam, including Marie Bradley and Abbey Thomas , came second and the senior girl’s bodyboard team, Remy Bernhardt and Amalia Lambert, were runners up in their division.

MacKillop Catholic College came in second place behind a dominant Margaret River High School who won five events and claimed the overall schools title for the seventh year in a row.

Two bodyboarders from Cape Naturaliste College and two from Georgiana Molloy Anglican School also competed at the WA Titles.

The WA State Championships drew 600 competitors, from 45 schools, in their biggest competition to date.
