Police call for witnesses after bashing, robbery

South West Detectives are investigating a robbery which left a man with severe facial injuries on Friday night.

A police spokeswoman said about 10.30pm a 29-year-old man was walking in Hay Park towards the Gull Service Station at the Parks Centre complex.

Two males approached the victim and punched him in the head, causing him to fall to the ground.

The offenders stole a quantity of money from the victims wallet and left the area.

The victim was then taken to hospital where he received several stitches.

The offenders are described as being fair skinned, with one wearing a green jumper and green pants.
