Red Cross request gifts in wills

Rockingham and Kwinana residents are being encouraged to leave a gift in their will to the Red Cross as the charity launches its Wills for Life campaign.

An information session will be held in Rockingham later this month as part of the charity’s campaign to generate support for the initiative.

Red Cross national bequest manager Ian Williamson said the charity received 20 per cent of its voluntary income from gifts in wills.

‘‘Leaving a gift in your will is one of the most valuable and lasting ways you can support Red Cross,’’ he said.

Rockingham law firm Civic Legal has teamed up with Red Cross to help people prepare or update simple wills.

A community wills event will be held at the Gary Holland Centre on Monday, August 27.
