Falcons keen to win back lost respect
Rob Falkstrom leads Justin McKain to the ball in last weekend’s Peel Football League fixture.

South Mandurah host Baldivis in the pick of the action from round 16 in the Peel Football League this weekend.

The third-placed Falcons head into the match following a 107-point humbling at the hands of Waroona last weekend.

In contrast, Baldivis were on the winners’ list, albeit narrowly, after accounting for Pinjarra by 17 points.

Souths hold down third spot on the ladder courtesy of a superior percentage, but will forfeit that position to Baldivis if the Brumbies win on Sunday.

In other matches, Mandurah will be out to limit the damage when ladder leaders Rockingham visit Ruston Park tomorrow.

The Mustangs registered their fourth win of the season after downing bottom side Halls Head by 62 points last weekend.

Justin McKain spearheaded Mandurah’s attack with eight goals and received valuable support from Zac Podmore and Jeremy Tournay (four each).

Mandurah will be out to do what no side has managed this season and defeat the premiership favourites.

Rockingham extended their unbeaten run to 15 matches on the back of last weekend’s 53-point win over Centrals.

Centrals will attempt to stave off consecutive losses when Waroona visit Mundijong Oval on Sunday.

Two rounds of the regular season remain after this weekend, with finals action set to begin on August 26.

Semi finals and preliminary finals have been set down for September 2 and 9 respectively with the grand final on September 16.
