Down the hatch

Manea Senior College is sending 30 students to Thailand in December, through the World Challenge voluntourism project, and four brave students took one for the team today, partaking in a spaghetti eating competition.

The contest was about speed, each student being challenged to eat one kilogram of spaghetti and sauce in the fastest time possible.

Each bowl was weighed to ensure fairness and students were permitted to use cutlery or their hands in order to get the food into their bellies.

A spillage of no more than 10 per cent was allowed and vomiting resulted in instant disqualification.

Unfortunately no one was able to finish the entire kilo but Dakota Liumaihetou-paola was declared winner by default, having consumed the most in the allotted time-frame.
