A high-energy rock band will bring their South West-grown talent to Bunbury’s Burlington Hotel tomorrow night.

Rod Brown, Scott Pearce, Shayne Hammer and Andrew Doepel formed the Kamikaze Pilots a year ago.

The guys share a passion for delivering top-quality rock’n’roll through covering the best tunes released over the past 40 years.

Lead singer and guitarist Brown told theSouth Western Timesthe band saw a market for live rock in the region.

‘‘People scream and cheer at the end of each song and everybody gets up and dances,’’ he said.

‘‘You just don’t get that reaction with a DJ.

‘‘Crowd participation is at a high and it’s a completely different vibe.’’

Brown works as a tiler in Bunbury during the day but said his real passion lies in music.

‘‘I’ve been playing for about 30 years,’’ he said.

‘‘If I could just be a full-time musician I definitely would.

‘‘It’s all about tiling by day, and rock’n’roll by night.’’

The band specialises in covering top rock’n’roll bands from the past four decades.

This includes AC/DC, the Living End, Green Day and Deep Purple.

Combined the band’s members have more than 80 years of experience and use that to maximise their performance.

‘‘We just love to produce topquality entertainment for people,’’ Brown said.

‘‘The camaraderie we share on stage really adds to the performance.

‘‘And playing at the Burly is great because people actually go there just to see the band.’’

The Kamikaze Pilots will play from 9pm at the Burlington Hotel on Victoria Street.
