Mandurah home destroyed by flames (cloned for Rock 1338332988)

An empty Mandurah house was destroyed by fire overnight, causing $150,000 damage.

The blaze started at the Cox Street property just after 9.40pm last night and took fire crews from Mandurah and Rockingham stations more than half an hour to bring under control.

A Fire and Emergency Services Authority spokesman said the house was gutted after fire got into the roof of the single-storey fibro home, which had a tin roof.

He said the house had been vacant for several weeks so nobody was home at the time of the fire.

Fire investigation officers attended to determine the cause of the blaze, which is unknown at this stage.

Fire investigators from FESA and the WA police would return to the scene today to try determine the cause of the fire.
