Aimee Butler could never find a perfect dress in the right price range so she decided to turn her passion for fashion and design into a business.

The 22-year-old Bunbury woman launched the Cherry and Coops clothing website around two months ago and is hoping the company will grow and expand into a retail outlet selling her designs.

Miss Butler said Cherry and Coops clothing was for the ‘‘everyday girl’’ who liked to look good and she hoped it would cater to the gap she saw in the market for girls aged between 16 and 25.

It has takenMiss Butler just over a year to source suppliers, build the website and create the clothing which she hopes will be both affordable and fashionable.

‘‘I came from a retail background and had always watched my mother, South West Institute of Technology lecturer Belinda Butler, teach pattern and design,’’ Miss Butler said.

‘‘I’m really pleased with the product, I’ve finished the hard parts and now I get to enjoy the fun bit of putting it all on show.’’

Miss Butler said she had sold the majority of her stock to WA buyers and she was looking forward to hosting a free fashion show at the New Lyric Theatre, the home of the Bunbury Musical Comedy Group, on February 11. All of Cherry and Coops’ stock will be on display and there will be gifts, giveaways and discounts.
