Broome teenager Seth Lovell is flying high after impressing coaches with his Frisbee skills at the Australian Youth Ultimate Championships this month.

The 16-year-old was the only player to represent WA in the two-day event, held in New South Wales, which brought together the best young players from across the nation.

Although WA came fifth in the competition, Seth's outstanding performance saw him selected to represent Australia in the under-18 team and travel to New Zealand in September.

The young performer said he was excited about the prospect of packing his bags and taking on his latest challenge.

In the meantime, he said he would focus on being physically and financially prepared.

"I'm going to fundraise as much money and do as much training as I can," Seth said.

Broome Ultimate Club coach Bec Lorraine said she was thrilled for Seth to have such a great opportunity.

"I think Seth has come a really long way in the last year especially," she said.

"Last year he went over and played and he was inspired to then come back and work on things.

"He's been doing that for the past year, so it's great that he's got some recognition for the efforts he's been putting in.

"If he keeps up with it, he'll go a long way in the sport."
