Demons back in mix

Kununurra Demons have moved within striking distance of the top five on the back of their second big win against Port Wyndham Crocs in as many weeks.

The Demons beat the Crocs by 67 points on Saturday afternoon 14.9 (93) to 4.2 (26), after beating them by 57 points a week earlier.

The result gives the Demons a valuable percentage boost after three losses earlier in the season and moves them just one win behind fifth-placed Kururrungku Roos.

The Roos remain in fifth place after a 28-point win against Bow River Blues, 14.5 (89) to 9.7 (61).

Wirrimanu Tigers sit in second spot on the ladder after they were too strong for Waringarri Crows at home 17.14 (116) to 6.5 (41).

The Crows slip to fourth after the third-placed Halls Creek Hawks ground out a tough win against Yardgee Dockers 9.12 (66) to 6.6 (42).

In the weekend's other match, Ord River Magpies beat Warmun Eagles 12.6 (78) to 3.4 (22).

However, the 56-point margin could have been narrower if the Eagles had not had their score wiped just after half-time when a head count revealed they had too many players on the field.

The East Kimberley Football League now has general competition byes for the next two weeks.
